| Bio: | Divorced, mother of a teenager, work full time as a legal PA/secretary, previously lived in the US for about 5 years, volunteer for Civil Defence (Sector Post Coordinator), fanfic reader, Christmas fanatic. Periodically I consider moving to Alaska, where I hear men outnumber the women by a ridiculous percentage, but then I remember how I hate being cold (lots of snow in Alaska), so I don't :) My other hobbies, besides LJ, YouTube and fanfic generally, you ask? As a typical Kiwi I love gardening and DIY redecorating, sewing (costumes mainly but would love to tackle wall hangings), crafts - mainly Christmas related :) I am keen to do more latin and belly dance and would love to take up flamenco and tango. I have recently taken up playing mahjong and archery - archery is a lot easier than it appears while mahjong is a lot harder! Of course I watch far too much tv; albeit not a lot of current shows, just DVDs of my favourites - mostly science fiction/fantasy, action, comedy and romance. Oh yeah, I read books too :) My current reads are Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter series; Sarah Monette's Mélusine trilogy; Lynn Flewelling's Tamir trilogy, Kim Harrison's Rachel Morgan series, plus Stephanie Rowe's romantasy series - - do you like this term? I made it up myself :) :) :) You may have noticed that I listed "cross-stitch" as a hobby. While I have completed several pieces, I think my true hobby is *collecting* cross-stitch kits and charts because really they won't get started, let alone completed! :) | |
